Guidelines by National Baha’i Council of India (Orthodox Baha’is of India )

Jul 11, 2020

As you all are aware, it’s a very special time in life of humanity and the honourable Prime minister during his address to the nation has exhorted the nation to maintain certain measures for the safety of ourselves and others, also similar guidelines are provided by the honourable chief ministers of the government of different states. Social distancing is to be followed at all times.

The National Baha’i Council of Orthodox Bahais of India in their recent meeting on 16th March 2020 have consulted with the members and wishes to share the following urgent guidance with you for the election of Local Bahai Councils in India this year.

In light of circumstances presented by the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), this year, Local Baha’i Councils can choose to conduct their annual elections by telephone, email, text messages or online. In this regard the LBCs should ensure  the validity and confidentiality of ballots which are cast.

If, in case the election of the LBC is not possible for this year, then the same member may continue for the next year. It is strictly for this year only due to the prevailing circumstances. The LBCs should immediately inform the NBC of India.

All Councils are requested to share this information with Local believers in their regions. Should any clarification be required, please do not hesitate to reach out to the National Baha’i Council.

Similarly there won’t be the National Convention held this year. The elected delegates are supposed to cast their ballots by telephonic or e mail texts.

The National Bahai Council of India takes this opportunity to convey each one of your members its love and appreciation for all your arduous labours during this difficult time.

With loving greetings

Prayer for Protection revealed by Bahá’u’lláh.

In His Name, the Exalted, the All-Highest, the Most Sublime!

Glorified art Thou, O Lord my God! O Thou Who art my God, and my Master, and my Lord, and my Support, and my Hope, and my Refuge, and my Light.

I ask of Thee, by Thy Hidden and Treasured Name, which none knoweth save Thine own Self, to protect the bearer of this Tablet from every calamity and pestilence, and from every wicked man and woman; from the evil of the evil-doers, and from the scheming of the unbelievers.

Preserve him, moreover, O my God, from every pain and vexation, O Thou Who holdest in Thy hand the empire of all things. Thou, truly, art powerful over all things. Thou doest as Thou willets, and ordains as Thou pleases.
